Christoph Hopp is a doctoral candidate at the Universities of Potsdam and Haifa. His research focuses on the production and transformation of knowledge between Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia. In his dissertation project, he explores the intersections of Jewish history (Haskalah, the science of Judaism and Zionism) and the history of linguistics. The aim of the work is to reconstruct the processes that led to the conceptualization of Hebrew as a Semitic and Middle Eastern language. More about Christoph Hopp
