Shortly after being established, the IGdJ had already gone public with its own scholarly publications. In its search for a press for its own series of publications, Hamburger Beiträge zur Geschichte der deutschen Juden, the IGdJ initially cooperated with Hamburg’s Leibniz Publishers. Since 1973, further volumes were published by the long-established Christians Publishers, whose history dates back to 1740. Since the insolvency of Christians Publishers in 2004, the IGdJ has been cooperating with Wallstein Publishers in Göttingen. As of today, 55 monographs, anthologies, and partly multi-volume documentations have been completed, representing varied and interdisciplinary approaches to Jewish historiography. In addition, the paperback edition entitled Studien zur jüdischen Geschichte (“Studies in Jewish History”) has been available since 1993, looked after by Dölling und Galitz Publishers (Munich and Hamburg). Ten volumes have been published to date. In addition, the IGdJ frequently edits publications that take shape in cooperation with other research institutions, as a result of which they are not always published in one of the two series.
