Research visits in July 2025

Dr. Naama Jager-Fluss has received a Minerva Short-Term Research Grant and is back at the IGdJ. During her Miriam Gillis-Carlebach-Fellowship 2023 she was also a guest at the IGdJ. Dr. Naama Jager-Fluss is a historian and research associate at the Samuel Braun Chair for the History of the Jews in Germany at Bar-Ilan Universität.

Benjamin Balint is the author of Kafka's Last Trial: The Case of a Literary Legacy (W.W. Norton), which won the Sami Rohr Prize in Jewish Literature and has been adapted into a full-length documentary film. The film was part of the program of the 5. Jüdische Filmtage Hamburg and shown in the Abaton Cinema to a sold-out audience. His most recent book Bruno Schulz: An Artist, a Murder, and the Hijacking of History (W.W. Norton) won the National Jewish Book Award in biography. His articles appear in Die ZEIT, The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Jewish Review of Books.
