Pupils of the Goethe-Schule Harburg
From 1933 to 1943, the Stadthaus on Stadthausbrücke was a centre of Nazi terror in Hamburg. The Stadthaus historical site commemorates this period. It is located in the Stadthöfe, a shopping and business district. Since 2022, it has been part of the Hamburg Memorials and Learning Centres Foundation for the Remembrance of the Victims of Nazi Crimes.
For the next six weeks, one of the memorial site's shop windows will be designed by the Geschichtomat project. It will display the results of a project week at the Goethe Schule in Harburg. The students there explored the fates of Hans Konrad and Katharina Leipelt, among others, and produced two films on the subject. They were supported by contemporary historian Angela Bottin.
The shop window will be on display until mid-November.
