Group from the DAAD's transatlantic exchange programme visits the IGdJ
On 24 June 2024, twelve young professionals from the USA and Canada visited the IGdJ as part of the transatlantic exchange programme "Germany Close Up" of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). Dr Björn Siegel gave some insights into the IGdJ's research projects, which illustrate the examination and role of Jewish history in Hamburg's urban space in various ways. Current topics, such as the use of social media, were discussed in depth. The exhibition "Nothing. Only Away!" Flight and new beginnings in Buenos Aires, Montevideo and São Paulo, which can currently be seen on fourteen posters at the IGdJ, was presented by Dr Björn Siegel. After two hours of intensive dialogue, the group took their leave to continue their journey and visit other memorials and museums.
